Pete Hemsley - Drums / Percussion

Pete Hemsleys' career has taken in many facets of the music industry including producing, remixing, touring (both as a solo artist and sideman), composing and teaching drums. Here below are some of the highlights of that career to date. He formed pop band 'RED BAMBOO' signed to EMI and went on to record an album in London and New York with hot producer of the day RICHARD  BURGESS.

Later Pete then formed band 'THE JAZZ DEVILS' and signed deal with VIRGIN, which saw the band record two albums, working in some of the best studios in the world and taking in London, Paris, New York, Amsterdam and Philidelphia. Around this time Pete had an endorsement deal with LUDWIG DRUMS and was also touring the country doing drum clinics. He was featured in '' RHYTHM " MAGAZINE and the band had album of the week on RADIO 1.

A move to Australia followed and countless remixes for artists including THE FINN BROTHERS, BOBBY MCFERRIN, SUSSAN DEYHIEM, PURETONE (ADDICTED TO BASS) and many Australian dance acts including BARDOT (POPSTARS TV SHOW), which went on to be the biggest selling single in Australia to date. A publishing and record deal with SONY followed as a solo artist. An award winning album followed entitled 'JOURNEYS' by THE LORDS GARDEN, a project with ANDY GLASS AND CRAIG SUNDERLAND. This album was toured across Australia and was also a success in Japan.

Many projects were undertaken by Pete Hemsley taking on the role as producer and composer including THE SONS OF INVENTION on PHONOGRAM and RANI on VIRGIN, which went into the top twenty in Australia. He also had a hit single entitled 'I HAVE A DREAM' under the guise of 'HATMAN', which was critically acclaimed and on many compilation albums. His music has also been used on various TV shows around the world including NEIGHBOURS and HOME AND AWAY.

Around this time Pete had the privilege of playing drums for JIMMY PAGE AND ROBERT PLANT for Australian TV. That year Pete left Australia to return to England having had three nominations for the APRA AWARDS, Australia's version of THE BRIT AWARDS.

Based back in the UK tours followed with a trip to Japan and most of Europe with GUY CHADWICK (HOUSE OF LOVE) and back to Australia with SLAVA GREGORIAN (SONY CLASSICAL).

Pete is currently producing and composing an album for London based singer CAROLINE and playing tabla having studied with the great PETE LOCKETT together with a busy drum teaching schedule, live performances, solo drum clinics and recording with 3 STICKS.
